May 24, 2003 Starting on the outside had its advantages this past Saturday night. Jammie started the night out with a qualifying time of 16.945. This is Jammie's fastest qualifying time of the year. On lap 2 he battled with the 21 of Bobby Spivey for the lead and eventually got it as they began lap 3, however, the 28 of Billy Fisher spun in turn 3 and Jammie had to go back to 2nd. As the laps went by the 40 of Mark Wertz flew past all of the competition. He passed Jammie on the outside on lap 15 and went on to take the lead. On lap 24 the 16 of Jeff Sampson got in the grass on the backstretch, causing a lengthy caution. On lap 26 the 45 of Doug Warren and 15 of Todd VanGuilder tangled on the frontstretch, causing another caution. At this time Jammie was still in 3rd. On the restart the 29 of Casey Wyatt shoved his nose underneath Jammie and slammed him right out of the way, knocking Jammie's door in. Fortunately, the only major damage was a position lost. Jammie finished 4th. --Melissa Hilbourn, Goode's Motorsports Reporter
