April 5, 2003 Rain threatened early in the day, however, by two o'clock the skies were sunny and everyone at Langley was ready to start the season. The Late Model Sportsmen took to the track for qualifying around 5:45, with Jammie being at the bottom of the qualifying list. A nice 17.223 was the time on the scoreboard as Jammie crossed the start/finish line to complete his qualifying lap. This placed him in 6th. The green flag flew and Jammie went to work. On the opening lap he passed the 29 of Casey Wyatt for 5th and looked ahead to the 15 of Todd VanGuilder, whom he passed as they completed that lap. He had some space to make up and that he did. On lap 16 he entered a side by side battle with the 21 of Bobby Spivey, however, Jammie was forced to let off as they entered the turn. Again on lap 20 they went at it, door to door. This time Jammie prevailed and 3rd belonged to him. Doom struck in the last turn of lap 47. Jammie came on the radio and said, "I think I'm losing my rear-end." Moments later the whole crowd heard as it snapped and Jammie's car quickly slowed to a hault in turn 2. This caused a caution and the tow truck had to push the car back into the pits, where the night ended. Jammie finished 12th. --Melissa Hilbourn, Goode's Motorsports Reporter
